2011 Production: The Sorcerer

Sunday, March 14, 2pmThe Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company, Inc. and the University of Chicago Department of Music will present Gilbert & Sullivan's The Sorcerer at the University of Chicago's Mandel Hall, 1131 E. 57th Street, Chicago. Proceeds will benefit the Department of Music's performance program.
Auditions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, January 8 and 9, 2011, from 2-5pm,, at Goodspeed Hall, Univ. of Chicago, 1010 E 59th St., Chicago. There are 9 prinicpal parts with modest stipends and a large mixed chorus. Auditionees are asked to prepare a musical number suitable for their voice part. Auditions will include one or more musical numbers from The Sorcerer along with dialogue reading.
